raindrops pizzicato

We give thanks for the rainy days as well as the sunny ones; for leaves skipping and tumbling along the pavement; for the pizzicato of raindrops on the roof, and the smell of pine wood in an open fire.

We give thanks for the surprises life brings just when we thought all possibilities had been exhausted, and the ways that open, when we thought all paths had been explored.

We give thanks for the wisdom that emerges when we see the familiar from a new angle, hear different memories of the same event, or different meanings in remembered stories—when we listen with new ears and open hearts.
